Welcome to Band & Choir!

Band

Open to all students grades 5-8. An opportunity for students to learn to play a band instrument (flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, and percussion) regardless of music experience or ability.

There are three groups that rehearsal before and after school and have lessons weekly during the school day.

• Symphonic Band

For students playing 3 or more years, usually 7th and 8th graders.  This group rehearses every morning Monday - Friday 7:00-7:35 am.

• Concert Band

For students in their second year of band, usually 6th graders.  In the first quarter, this group will rehearse Tuesdays 2:30 - 3:15 and Wednesday and Thursday 7:00-7:35 am.  After the first quarter, this group will merge with the Symphonic Band to become one band, rehearsing Monday - Friday 7:00-7:35 am.

• Beginning Band

For students just starting to learn an instrument, generally 5th graders.  In the first quarter, these students will only receive a weekly lesson during the school day.  Beginning in the second quarter, this band will also rehearse after school on Tuesdays 2:30 - 3:20 pm.

Choir

For students interested in being part of a singing group.  Students will learn two and three part songs from a variety of genres and may include songs in other languages.  Choir rehearses every Monday and Thursday 2:30-3:15 pm.
