Welcome to Mr. Shin's classroom! My name is Joseph Shin, and this is my first year teaching at North Prairie Jr. High. I am eager to join the community and make a positive impact in every way I can. I have been honored with the position of teaching 5th and 6th grade Math and Science. One could argue that these years of education are among the most important for any student, and I intend to take full advantage of that for our young scholars. 

A bit about me: I am a recent college graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC)! I was a member of one of UIC's urban dance teams, FIA Modern, and I was the FIA Modern director in 2015-2016. I am a first generation Korean-American, and I hope I can share my unique experiences with the community!

You will find that I am a fair teacher who has no interest in wasting your student's time. Your students will not arrive to my classroom because they have to; your students will arrive to my classroom because they want to.
