Welcome to OUR CLASS! My name is Shelley Peterson and I have been teaching for 25 years. I have taught fourth grade, third grade, and even spent a few years in the library and computer lab. This is my second year teaching first grade and I am so xcited to be a small part of your children's lives.
I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and spending time at the gym. My favorite thing to do is to read a good book.
In my classroom, I promote an atmosphere of safety, trust, and respect. I work hard to build a sense of community among my students, and I emphasize the idea of teamwork. I value cooperation and collaboration in my classroom. I believe that great things can happen when we work together! Westfield is a place where I really feel like part of a strong community.
I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. I also received a Master's Degree from Northern Illinios University in Educational Administration. I enjoy learning new things to implement in my classroom and often attend workshops.
