Mrs. Dierdre Cook
The 2018 - 2019 is my 23rd year teaching and my 15th year in the Winthrop Harbor School District. Aside from teaching, I am a clarinetist in the North Suburban Wind Ensemble and the Waukegan Band. I am also a board member of the Waukegan Band Foundation that supports the Waukegan Band.
This year, I am teaching band and choir at North Prairie as well as 7th and 8th grade PE.
I have a Bachelor in Music Education from DePaul University, a Masters of Music Education from Northwestern University, and a Master in Educational Leadership from Northeastern Illinois University. Throughout my years, I have taught band and orchestra to children in grades four through eight; general music and choir to students in grades three through eight; 7th grade Reading, Language Arts, and Social Studies; PE to students in kindergarten through eighth grade; and Library to grades five through eight.
When I am not in school, I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, and spending time with my three children.
