Mrs. Karner's First Grade Website!Welcome to first grade! I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our classroom and tell you a little bit about myself. I am very excited to be teaching here at Westfield! I truly enjoy teaching first grade because the kids make a great deal of growth in a year's time. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Western Illinois University in 2009 and earned my Masters in reading through Olivet Nazarene University. I live in Winthrop Harbor with my husband Matthew and our adorable sons, Jameson and Logan. In my free time, I coach baton with the Razzle Dazzles twirling team. I believe that open communication between a child's home and school is very important for a student's success. Please feel free to contact me any time you have a question or concern.
